The Lemon Lady

A friend just told me about Anna Chan, aka The Lemon Lady, who is based out of Concord in Contra Costa County.  She, similarly to mo foods, can't stand to see the waste of fresh fruits and produce, so she will come to your house and pick it for free.  All of her collected produce is then delivered to local food banks, such as the Salvation Army Food Pantry.  Her website/blog also has an easy search function to help you find your nearest location.
Here at mo foods we commend Anna's efforts to prevent waste and share the amazing bounty around us with people who would not otherwise have access to fresh, healthy food.
Do you live in Contra Costa County?  Anna will come pick produce in: Concord, Clayton, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Lafayette, Orinda, Walnut Creek, Alamo, Danville and around Mt. Diablo.
Thank you, Lemon Lady!!

Summer Intern Hyesun

We wanted to give a little shout-out to our great summer intern, Hyesun, who has been picking and pickling and squeezing and typing and inventorying and just generally helping us out a lot.  She came to us a junk-food lover and is leaving with a deeper appreciation of fresh ingredients and creative concoctions (especially our Artisanal Limoncello!).  Thank you, Hyesun, and we hope to see you in SF again soon!

New Taste Marketplace deliciousness!

While we won't be at the New Taste Marketplace ourselves tomorrow (July 16), our friends at Fairie Goatmother will be carrying 8 oz jars of our Spicy Pickled Oranges, and topping their delicious cheesecake with it too.  Go check out their tasty cheeses and more, and gorge on all the other fantastic offerings from our local vendors, 12-5pm.  And know that you'll be supporting St. Gregory's and the Food Pantry while you do.  Eating well while doing good!
